Abstract

In this study, the spatial and temporal variation of water table between two bi-level drains has been investigated through a numerical as well as analytic solution (AS) model.  Considering HFAS as benchmark solution, falling water tables obtained from FES followed by FIFDS were observed quite close to that obtained from HFAS and as per L2 and Tchebycheff norms computation, it was ranked at 1st and 2nd place, respectively. The AS predicted slower water table fall compared to HFAS. The water table fall is comparatively faster and spacing is more, when Boussinesq equation is solved employing HFAS.
